FLAMINGO towed, underwater vehicle is simple and cost-effective tool for general and specialized ocean research. An ideal platform for mounting of environmental control, oceanographic or hydroacoustic equipment. Originally designed as a tow fish for mine hunting side scan sonar meets strongest demands for three dimensional motion stability. Due to carefully designed streamlined body and stabilizers the vehicle is characterized by low drag and nonturbulent water flow around the body.
An opportunity for discrete and continuous oceanographic measurements like salinity, temperature, transparency, magnetism or fluorescence could be made in real time.
A dedicated TV system and underwater photographic equipment with side scan sonar and magnetometer can change towed vehicle into a powerful and effective search vehicle.
An addition of active rudder or ailerons is possible for increasing maneuverability and effective observation area.

Options:
  • hydrodynamic depressor RAY
  • multiconductor towing cable
  • amagnetic version
  • composite pressure vessels for electronic equipment
